Commitment season has arrived on the college football calendar as teams make big gains in recruiting following a busy stretch of official visits in recent months. The race for the best 2025 recruiting class in the ACC is heating up with Miami quickly closing the gap on Clemson, while several surprise teams round out the top five in the newly expanded conference. So, how is the ACC team race taking shape as June comes to an end?

The recruiting calendar is currently in a dead period for thenext four weeks into late July. However, this is often the busiest time for new commitments after recruits sit down and weigh their options following on-campus visits.

Most of the top prospects in the 2025 class will be committed by the time the early signing period rolls around in December. So, these summer recruiting months are crucial to building a strong haul before the college football season kicks off.

Florida State only has six commitments in the 2025 recruiting class as June comes to an end. However, the average industry-generated 247Sports Composite rating for those pledges is the highest in thecountry. Mike Norvell is known for reloading his roster through the transfer portal, and that approach seems to be consistent moving forward, which likely means Florida State is not going to bring in large classes from high school recruiting. Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines five-star offensive tackle Solomon Thomas is the headliner for the Seminoles this cycle alongside three other Top247 commits.

Louisville ranks near the bottom of the ACC in team recruiting rankings for the 2025 class, but there are several strong commits in the early haul. Oxford (Ala.) three-starquarterback Mason Mims already has two years of starting experience in high school with 51 passing touchdowns.
